Contributing to change the world.

First of all, there is the question of world disorder, our share of responsibility, and the role we can play in it. We cannot deny poverty, suffering, violence, wars, the ecological disaster, malnutrition, epidemics, the plundering of the resources and the extinction of the species etc ... All this is very real and it compromises the future of our children, doesn't it ? It's not acceptable ! For the more cynical ones, well everything is fine. They don't seem to see where the problem is. They are of course the blindest of all.

These questions arise more easily in those who have the luxury of not chasing money. The ones who suffer have enough problems to be able to deal with other people's problems. One can only have compassion when one is free from conflicts. But how do we view disorder ? Is it a fact outside of ourselves ? What is the origin of all evil ? Is it the politicians' job to fix them ? Are we relying on science and technology to provide the right answers ?

The point is, we are responsible for the mess, you and I, and no one else. It is out of selfishness and ambition that we have created a violent world.

Do we see this as an indisputable fact or do we think we are strangers to chaos ? If we are separate from the problems then there is nothing to be done, the solutions elude us. But if we see our responsibility, what should we do ? How can we contribute to make this world a better place ? We cannot escape this question if we are a little bit serious and concerned. Because to answer it is to find our place in the universe. But the answer must be total. It seems we are all busy dealing with the symptoms through external initiatives. We hope that the multitude of actions will improve things gradually. Add a little education to that, and voila ! But Is there such thing as total action ?

For sure the multitude of initiatives only seem to bring more disorder. No improvements in sight.

We would like to be able to take out a checkbook in order to solve the problems, according to our means. But it doesn't work that way, unfortunately ! The reason is very simple, we mentioned it previously. We are responsible for the mess and no one else. As long as we don't change the nature of our relationships to others, to things and to ideas, and as long as we don't reconsider our posture, nothing will change on the long run.

We need to perceive the deceptive nature of thought, which has invented all kinds of ideologies, each more absurd than the next.

There are also memory, knowledge, experiences etc. We have to reconsider things from a new perspective, because we have let thought rule everything. But must it be so ? Thought has its place, in certain fields, technical and others. But in relation to others, thought is harmful. It gives birth to images, divisions and ego. And the ego is the world's problem, nothing else. Ego is ambition, selfishness and violence. Let’s see it clearly once and for all.

It is only when the ego has found its proper place in ourselves that we can talk about lasting transformation and a better world. There IS the salvation for mankind.

If we really want to change the world, we have to let go of the old brain, and operate from a space uncluttered by thought, spontaneous, new, unconditioned. We must abandon what took us decades to build. Are we ready for such a renunciation ?
